Working in close coordination with the Chair and the rapporteur, Legal Experts support the work of the Committee at every stage of the legislative process. Their responsibilities include:

• Assessing the admissibility of amendments
• Ensuring that procedures are properly followed
• Providing technical and legal advice
• Ensuring compliance with the Rules of Procedure of the European Parliament

The Legal Experts of the TRAN Committee Secretariat are currently conducting the admissibility review of submitted amendments, following the deadline of 31 March 2026 (midnight).This step is essential to ensure that all amendments comply with the applicable procedural and legal requirements before entering the negotiation phase.
