On\u00a0Wednesday, 20 May<\/strong>, I will host the roundtable\u00a0\u201cThe Future of CO\u2082 Standards for Vehicles: Cross-Institutional Insights\u201d<\/strong>, from\u00a012:30 to 13:45<\/strong>\u00a0in\u00a0Chapsal, 27 rue Saint-Guillaume<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event will bring together representatives of the European Parliament<\/strong>, the European Commission<\/strong>, and the Council of the European Union<\/strong> for a cross-institutional discussion on the upcoming negotiations concerning the proposed amendment to Regulation (EU) 2019\/631<\/strong> on CO\u2082 emission performance standards for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n

The roundtable aims to create a space for constructive dialogue beyond the formal trilogue setting. While institutional negotiations are often highly technical and politically tense, durable compromises also require a broader understanding of each institution\u2019s priorities, concerns, and constraints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The discussion will address the future of CO\u2082 standards for vehicles, with particular attention to climate ambition, industrial competitiveness, technological neutrality, European supply chains, and the need for a transition that is both economically realistic and socially sustainable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
