The European People’s Party (EPP) delegation in the TRAN Committee has rejected accusations made by The Left regarding recent parliamentary negotiations and alleged cooperation with far-right parties.
In a statement released on Tuesday, EPP representatives argued that support for specific amendments “does not represent any form of political alliance with extremists’ parties,” but rather reflects efforts to protect European industries, workers and regional interests.
The delegation reaffirmed its commitment to cooperation with S&D and Renew within the parliamentary centre coalition, while insisting on maintaining its political independence.
